The SW U.S. Hispanic Herbal Remedies list was compiled in 2004. This database provides information for patients and health care professionals about the benefits and risks associated with herbal remedies used by the Hispanic communities of the southwestern United States. Accompanying the searchable list are printable pocket cards for clinicians showing evidence for effectiveness and potential drug interactions for both Hispanic and commercial herbal remedies. The database and pocket cards provide answers to the important questions: "How well does this plant work? Is it dangerous?" The research was conducted by Lane P Johnson, MD, MPH, and colleagues at the University of Arizona's College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, and community health centers.
